Draper of Glastonbury started making Sheepskin Footwear over 85 years ago, the company is still owned by the same family. Today the Draper brand is synonymous with top quality boots, slippers and gloves handmade to the highest standards and sold to the best stores worldwide.

There is a rich history of sheepskin in the Glastonbury area, showing evidence of leather making on our site in 1888 and the Glastonbury area itself has been famous for sheepskin since the 12th century when the Glastonbury monks started tanning skins.

Natural sheepskin in unequalled for its comfort and wearing properties and Drapers maintain the link with tradition by continuing to use the finest materials available coupled with the skill of our craftsmen.

We hope you will enjoy the comfort and warmth of your new Draper of Glastonbury sheepskin slippers, boots or gloves. They each will take around 4 weeks to make as they are individually hand made. (Although they are held in stock and ready to send to you as soon as you order). To care for the slipper, suede must be kept dry, do not immerse in water. If they do get wet, let them dry naturally. The suede nap can be ‘buffed up' with a stiff brush. Clean leathers with a damp cloth and mild detergent and remove the moisture with a dry cloth afterwards. The sheepskin fleece can also be rubbed with a damp cloth and mild detergent and remove the moisture with a dry cloth afterwards. The wool can be brushed or combed to renew its appearance.

You can protect your suede, leather or sheepskin by using our protector spray, and you can use our 'sheepskin care kit' for cleaning. We also sell replacement sheepskin insoles for our slippers and boots. All of these can be found under the 'accessories' heading at the top menu.

***This style is a narrow width fitting slipper. We recommend going up one size from normal shoe size in this style.***

Fitting of sheepskin lined slippers and boots

At first, it is normal for sheepskin lined slippers and boots to feel a little tight. The sheepskin will bed down and mould to the shape of your foot and feel completely normal with a short amount of wear, so this is nothing to worry about. We recommend ordering your normal shoe size. If you are a half size, then we recommend buying a size up.

Amazing Slippers

This was my first time of buying slippers from Drapers, but it won't be the last! They arrived yesterday and I love them. They are so comfortable. My shoe size is 6.5 so I ordered the 7 which are a perfect fit. Delivery was very quick. Just one thing (but it isn't a problem) I ordered the nut colour because the wine was out of stock. When they arrived the box said nut but I had a nice surprise because the actual slippers were the wine colour! I will have lovely warm feet all winter!

Perfect Fit

I am a 4.1/2 , with a slim foot, and ordered a 5 in the wine colour. They are a perfect fit and are so comfortable. Excellent packaging and service from Drapers.

Worn this style for 20+ years

Bought my first pair of Becky slippers in late 90’s, early 00’s and have never been disappointed. A snug fit at first while the lining beds in, but always warm and comfortable. The rubber sole is useful if I have to step outside in them, but I try not to. Looking to buy a boot style pair to keep my ankles warm this winter.

Wonderful slippers

I have received my first pair of Becky slippers and they are wonderful. Nice looking , very comfortable and most importantly very warm and cosy. Becky slippers

I love my new Becky mule slippers. Super comfortable and warm with a sensible rubber sole which allows trips to the garden for the bins or the bird feeders. I had to exchange my first order for the next size up and was really impressed by the simple, speedy, free returns service. My replacement slippers even came with a little handwritten note!
