Draper of Glastonbury started making Sheepskin Footwear over 85 years ago, the company is still owned by the same family. Today the Draper brand is synonymous with top quality boots, slippers and gloves handmade to the highest standards and sold to the best stores worldwide.

There is a rich history of sheepskin in the Glastonbury area, showing evidence of leather making on our site in 1888 and the Glastonbury area itself has been famous for sheepskin since the 12th century when the Glastonbury monks started tanning skins.

Natural sheepskin in unequalled for its comfort and wearing properties and Drapers maintain the link with tradition by continuing to use the finest materials available coupled with the skill of our craftsmen.

We hope you will enjoy the comfort and warmth of your new Draper of Glastonbury sheepskin slippers, boots or gloves. They each will take around 4 weeks to make as they are individually hand made. (Although they are held in stock and ready to send to you as soon as you order). To care for the slipper, suede must be kept dry, do not immerse in water. If they do get wet, let them dry naturally. The suede nap can be ‘buffed up' with a stiff brush. Clean leathers with a damp cloth and mild detergent and remove the moisture with a dry cloth afterwards. The sheepskin fleece can also be rubbed with a damp cloth and mild detergent and remove the moisture with a dry cloth afterwards. The wool can be brushed or combed to renew its appearance.

You can protect your suede, leather or sheepskin by using our protector spray, and you can use our 'sheepskin care kit' for cleaning. We also sell replacement sheepskin insoles for our slippers and boots. All of these can be found under the 'accessories' heading at the top menu.

Fitting of sheepskin lined slippers and boots

At first, it is normal for sheepskin lined slippers and boots to feel a little tight. The sheepskin will bed down and mould to the shape of your foot and feel completely normal with a short amount of wear, so this is nothing to worry about. We recommend ordering your normal shoe size. If you are a half size, then we recommend buying a size up.

Wonderful

Was looking for a cosy boot to wear after swimming and after searching online found the Claire boots. I want to support British manufacturers so decided to give them a go - and also bought the Malden boots as they looked so smart. 2 days later and they've arrived. Both are so cosy and warm - I didn't want to take off the Claire boots as my feet are so snug. I know I will want to wear them all the time so I have just ordered some Camilla slippers so I never have to have cold uncomfortable feet!

Quality

I bought a pair of these in black for my wife as a pair of house shoes/slippers. They came up slightly large, even when wearing socks.. They
were changed to a size down quickly and without any issue and the new pair are perfect. The quality is superb, they look great and in my wife’s opinion, appear to be better than the well know brand. Very comfortable. She loves them!

Claire Boots Graphite

Ordered in my regular shoe size 5, perfect fit. Colour is lovely,( nicer than shown)- a true grey with contrasting flexible but firm soles. Superbly made. Snug at first but after a days wear perfect, even enough room for thin cotton socks. Love the loop @ heel back to help get them on.. I’m wearing inside but sturdy enough for outside wear too. Outstanding customer service and hand made in England. Love them

Claire boots

Bought the size 6 slightly too big. Returned for a size 5 and in less than 7 days I had my new boots. Excellent turn around. Highly recommend these boots they fit like a glove , warm and comfortable. Customer service was fantastic.

Fabulous great price superb quality

Over priced Australian versions do not compare to the quality of these I have two black got a pair of black for xmas, just ordered the spice and will be getting the graphite. Also have fantastic slippers. So warm and comfortable. I've see non fir classic boots that have caught my eye too.
